There's so much to discover close to the Moulin du Boisset. To keep you informed, we're writing articles about local news, what we've discovered on our walks, what's happening in the tourist industry, our favourite places to visit, and also a few words about our life in this beautiful house...

We hope you enjoy reading them.

Let's take a walk in the woods

From the car park, we take the footpath signposted "Sentier Art Nature" and head through the houses towards the woods. No sooner had we arrived under the cover of the chestnut trees, which are very common in this part of the Lot, close to the departments of Corrèze and Cantal, than the visit began: discreetly, a face, carved on an old trunk, looked at me with its big eyes as if it wanted to warn me of some danger. Then the stone figure of a woman, playing hide-and-seek behind a tree and certainly the guardian of the tranquillity of this place, tells me with a finger over her mouth not to make any noise. Then come the hangings. Here a wooden monkey hangs from a branch, there a head hanging from a corkscrew-shaped body. Then, along the path, groups of characters on makeshift bicycles or other motley carriages, a scrap tyrannosaurus ready to pounce on you, characters posted left and right.

We play at finding the hidden sculptures, because the spirits of the forest have told them not to reveal themselves so easily. Our imaginations and curiosity are put to the test, and the atmosphere in this forest is very special, with the slightest noise - the crack of a branch, the cry of a bird - sending us back to our childhood fears. It's hard to imagine what it would be like to visit this place at night. There's no doubt that this walk was another wonderful discovery, showing yet another facet of the Lot's cultural richness...
